My parents and I were watching the Hobbit but then they both fell asleep so I stopped the movie and started Return of the King about halfway through and when my dad woke up he just looked at me with this horrified expression and whispered what day is it?

The joys of a cup of tea.

This is why I drink about 5 cups of tea a day.

"And so life in the Shire goes on very much as it has this past Age. Full of its own comings and goings, with change coming slowly, if it comes at all. For things are made to endure in the Shire, passing from one generation to the next. There’s always been a Baggins living here, under the hill, in Bag End. And there always will be."

MIlky Way over Three Sisters (USA) by IronRodArt - Royce Bair (“Star Shooter”)

"Strangely, she appeared at one more impoverished and more attractive  two things which he had not thought her capable of……..she had the same hoarse voice, the same chapped, weather-beaten skin, the same bold and shiftless gaze, and added to these the apprehensive, vaguely pitiable expression that a spell in prison lends to the face of ordinary poverty. She had whisps of straw in here hair, not because, like Ophelia, she had gone mad, but she had spent the night in a stable loft. And with it all she had grown beautiful! Such is the miracle of youth."

Venus, Zodiacal Light, and the Galactic Center
Image Credit & CopyrightJuergen Schmoll (Durham University, CfAI)

Explanation: The bulging center of our Milky Way Galaxy rests on a pillar of light in this luminous skyscape. Recorded on September 22nd in dark South African skies, rivers of dust seem to flow downward from the galactic centertowards Antares, yellowish alpha star of the constellation Scorpius, near the top of the scene. The brightest celestial beacon present is not a star at all though, but planet Venus, still dominant in the western sky after sunset. Of course, the pillar of light stretching upward from the horizon is Zodiacal light. Sunlight scattered by dust along the plane of the ecliptic creates the zodiacal glow, prominent in the evening after twilight during the southern hemisphere spring.

Through fire and water. From the lowest dungeon to the highest peak, I fought him, the Balrog of Morgoth. Until at last, I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside. Darkness took me. And I strayed out of thought and time. Stars wheeled overhead and every day was as long as a life-age of the earth. But it was not the end. I felt life in me again.

I’ve been sent back until my task is done.
